[ChineseSkiClub] CSIA Technical Manuel

http://cld.bz/Zbi2PPo#6/z

David

Hi David/Peter,

This is Daniel Chen, referred by Eva Kang a couple of months back.
I and my son(12 years old), forgot to enroll this 'Killington (12/15-19/2014)'on time.

[ChineseSkiClub] winter park private lesson 10-packs, and regular lesson 2 packs for adults

Hi guys,
I email to winter park and copper mountain for season lesson pass. Both don't have this option. But in the winter park, there will be private lesson 10-packs, and regular lesson 2 packs for adults if you have the season pass.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Huan,

We do not offer season lesson passes for adults. However, we do often offer multi lesson packs. This season we were offering private lesson 10-packs, and regular lesson 2 packs for adults. Not sure exactly what we will offer for 2014/2015, but I don't believe we will be offering Adult Lesson Season Passes as we haven't in the recent past. All of our offerings for next season will be posted on our website in late April.

Re: [ChineseSkiClub] Trip Plan for 2014-15 Season

Hey,

It's going to snow in Snowshoe, WV this Sunday.

Anyone is interested in riding Snowshoe as an end of season trip?

PM me.

I would like to get everyone's opinion about the trip plan for 2014-15 season because some best promotion has started last week.  For next snow season, I am thinking about:
1. Taking a trip (5 ski days) to PSIA training in Vermont (e.g., Killington) in December.
2. Taking out people to join Vancouver Ski Gang's Alps Ski Trip (TBA).
(Vancouver Ski Gang, 溫哥華滑雪幫, they have about 20 people in the Alps trip next season.)
3. Following our Ski Trip Longer-Range Planning long term plan to ski those we have not visited yet.  (Winter 2014-15's target is Winter Park, Steamboat, and Copper Mountain.)

Right now there is a very good ski pass promotion from Intrawest:  Intrawest Passport
It covers Steamboat, Winter Park, Blue Mountain, Tremblant, Stratton, and Snowshoe.  Each resort gets 6 days of skiing.  I have confirmed with Intrawest that the 6 days do not need to be in one ski trip, which means that we can ski Snowshoe locally for 2, 2, 2 - 3 separate weekend trips.  We can then jump on a plane to ski Colorado, Vermont, and/or Canada for other trips.  I also confirmed with Intrawest that their definition of family covers friends!  Therefore, here is the deal:

If you buy the pass youself only, it is $549.  If we get a group of 6 (one + 5 additional) to buy the pass together, it will be $424 per person.  The promotion lasts for only 7 days, so you need to act quick if you are interested.  Since I will be out on ski trip next week, I will need to get this done this weekend (by tomorrow afternoon).

Please let me know if you want to join my group puchase of the Intrawest Passport before tomorrow afternoon (03/09/2014).

Vote for the 5-day trip. does it usually include a weekend, or all on weekdays?

[ChineseSkiClub] Skiing Whistler with a Legendary Ski Group - Vancouver Ski Gang

No need to talk about the snow condition!  It was not only good, but it was exteremly good!  I would say that it was the best ever snow condition I've skied in.  We were so lucky - super lucky - having huge snow dump just right before we arrived Whistler.  Almost 50 inches of snow have fallen, preparing the mountain and welcoming our arrival.  It kept snowing, snowing, and snowing ... day and night everyday while we were there!  Everyday was a powder day!  Every run was a fresh run!  The snow falling during these three days was fluffy dry powder - very different from the normal Whistler wet heavy snow.

In this trip, everyday we skied with the strongest chinese ski group - Vancouver Ski Gang (溫哥華滑雪幫), a legendary ski group led by a longtime friend McKay (aka pku) 掌門人 with some old friends (布萊恩, 湯瑪士, 來山德) and many new friends (西門, 德瑞克, 阿清, ... ).  The friends that we skied together in this 3-day ski trip included the following certifications: CSIA L4, L3, L2, L1, CASI L2, APSI L2, and PSIA L2.  The total number of friends that we skied together exceeded 20 people.

Day-1:  掌門人, 西門, 德瑞克, and some other friends skied with us, covering *all* mogul runs and trees (marked and unmarked) - in-piste and off-piste on the Whistler Mtn, especially those trees and mogul fields right under lifts (e.g., Big Red, Garbanzo, ... etc.)  After this whole day of extremely tough skiing, 我感覺兩腿快抽筋了!  (It was the second time that I felt that.  The first time was also on Whistler Mtn. - 8 years ago when I took the Summit Session training camp there.)

Day-2:  掌門人, 西門, 布萊恩, 湯瑪士, 來山德, 阿清, and many other friends (around 20 in total) skied with us, including CSIA L4 Akiko.  The ski routes were similar as that of yesterday.  Did it again!  OMG!  我昨天兩腿發軟還沒恢復!  Then I was able to follow the fast half group only half day.  In the afternoon, I switched to ski with the slow half group (, but we still skied moguls and trees - just not those extreme ones though).  In the end of the day, 我兩腿更軟了!

Day-3:  We skied with APSI Jan, barkely, and 愛莉絲.  這天我們可惜錯過了阿慢大師.  We went to Whistler Peak and skied straight down through Whistler Bowl.  We then went to Symphony, Sun Bowl, and Saddle.  After that, we spent the rest of the day on Blackcomb Mtn. including 7th Heaven and Horstman.

If my skiing off-piste at Jackson Hole with their school technical director (half day) got me the extreme experience for 100 points, this Whistler trip's skiing with 掌門人 McKay (the only best - not one of the best) chinese skier gained me 400 points (2 whole days) of the extreme experience!  I can't wait, and I am looking forward to skiing with the legendary Vancouver Ski Gang again next season in Alps.

[ChineseSkiClub] Re: Whitetail 2013-2014 Winter Season

The snow keeps falling all the way everyday through Sunday at Whitetail.  Let's start planning this weekend's skiing now!
We need to know:
1. Who is going to Whitetail on which day (Saturday or Sunday) from where?
2. Can you provide a carpool?  Or do you need a carpool?
3. After the skiing, do you want to stop by Rockville for dinner together?

After we get the head count, we will figure out where to meet at what time for the carpool.

[ChineseSkiClub] Re: Whitetail 2013-2014 Winter Season

It looks like this weekend will be a perfect one for going skiing – snowing but not too cold!  This perfect condition won't last long, so you got to go skiing - Whitetail, Liberty, Rountop, or Snowshoe ...!  I'll go to Whitetail this weekend (both days).  Let me know if anyone is interested in going together!  Remember to give me a call so that we can ski together - I'll provide you some movement analysis.

[ChineseSkiClub] Re: Whitetail 2013-2014 Winter Season

We have had arctic-like extremely cold weather in last two weeks.  Spring is coming this weekend!  It will be sunny and blue-sky days this coming weekend with 47F.  If you haven't skied a lot this season, you got to go to the slope this weekend!  Join me to go skiing at Whitetail and I'll provide you some movement analysis.  Let me know if anyone is interested in going together.
