[ChineseSkiClub] Re: Mammoth & Tahoe Ski Trip (03/11-17/2014)

Two have committed (air booked) to this trip, and two others are still thinking.  I have a friend at Heavenly, and he ski 180 days a year at Heavenly.  For this season, my plan is to ski only one day at Heavenly (because its lift ticket is not covered by the Mountain Collective pass).  Since we visit Squaw, which is in Lake Tahoe area, we will stop by Heavenly – the most beautiful ski resort in the States.

Since we will need a rental car, when you book your flights, be sure you will arrive at RNO (Reno Airport) on 03/11/2014 at around or *before 5pm* local time.  On 03/17/2014, your flight's departure time from RNO back to your city will need to be at around or *after 3pm* local time.  I have reserve a Jeep Grand Cherokee if we have only 4 people going.  If we have more people joining this trip, they will either arrange their own rental car or we will need to get a large SUV.

This idea is brewing!  I don't call this a ski trip because we will enjoy some other winter adventures beside skiing.  We will skiing/snowboarding at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for 3 days (or maybe 2 days there and 1 day at Grand Targhee).  We will visit Yellowstone National Park via snowmobiles to see the beatiful winter view, wildlife, geysers, especially the Old Faithful.  Furthermore, we will take a non-traditional dogsled tour to a famous natural hot springs.  Why it is non-traditional?  Because we will be learning how to drive a team of Husky dogs, and we will drive the team by ourselves!  It will have tons of fun!

The beaufy of Yellowstone in winter is beyond anybody's imagination!  However, Yellowstone closes most of their gates and opens only the South Gate, which is near Jackson Hole.  Only special tours can access the park in the winter.  They include bus/coach tour or snowmobile tour.  The snowmobile is what we are going to take in order to cruise the park and see the Old Faithful.

[ChineseSkiClub] Re: 2010 Volkl Unlimited AC50 for Sale

The snow season is coming soon.  If you are thinking about upgrading your skis to a high-end one, this might be interest you!
Before posting this advertisement to graigslist, I would like to give our members the priority to consider this first.
Also, after the selling of this pair, I won't be selling my used skis for at least few years (because my next pair will be customed to my size).
You need to consider this offer if you are a male, with one of the following profiles:  strong skier in 170 cm, advanced skier in 175 cm, or novice skier in 180 cm.

2010 Volkl Unlimited AC50, Gold Medal award, German made, 170 cm, Ask for: $325 (75% off)!

They are high performance and well-maintained.  They have been used for only few times in ski trips.  I have other pairs for teaching and regular skiing.  Let me know ASAP if you are interested.
(FYI that overstock sells this exact same model and same size for $770+shipping+?tax)

The actual travel dates have not been decided yet.  If anyone is interested in joining the trips, let me know so that we can figure out better travel dates for everyone.  The following lists our updated plan:

(Ski 3 days, visit Yellowstone 1 day, and take a sled dog tour to a hot spring 1 days.)

2014-02 (02/12-17/2014) (Presidents' Day) - Whistler Blackcomb
(Fly to Seattle or Vancouver, drive up to Whistler, ski 3-5 days there, and enjoy the best Hong Kong cuisine in Vancouver.)

Re: [ChineseSkiClub] Re: Ski Trips for Winter 2013-14

Dear all,

Last year we used Dropbox to exchange our pictures but Dropbox's free storage space only has 2G and it is too small for video clips.

Now I found a good news that China's big internet companies such as 百度云盘offer 2T free space and 360云盘 offer 36T free space. So we would have no more problem to store our all skiing/snowboarding pictures/video clips/movies without losing quality.

I would think China company's cloud service would crash the Dropbox or Box or Google drive or SkyDrive them all.

09/11/2013 - Chena River Riverboat Discovery & Fairbanks Departure

(Chena River on the Riverboat Discovery), 是乘坐

I'm interested in Snowshoe.

Where is the next event for the $99 3-day lift ticket?

I have purchased a 3 days for $99 with no blackout days pass from snowshoe. But lodging there is pretty expensive. I am wondering if anyone else is interested so that we can organize a trip and get a big house out there. I am thinking if we go Jan 1st - Jan 5th, we only need two vacation days and can get 3 full days of ski without exhausting from driving. Anyone interested? I am open to other time as well. But I already have a couple friends interested for New Year so it is ideal.

The passes are on sale at ski shop events around DC area. here is the link
